Pastoral Care

Our Pastoral Care Ministry includes hospital visitation, in-home visits of those recovering from illnesses or injuries, and a very active shut-in ministry.

We feel it is important to bridge the social and spiritual disconnect that can occur when and individual cannot attend services as in the past.

Our visits may include reliving their memories of the past through stories and photos, current issues or environment, the Bible, or maybe even sharing scripture with the individual.

Various pieces of literature are taken to our shut-ins and if they are able, we encourage their reading to keep their minds active. Our goal is to help them not only cope with their circumstances, but also to help them realize they have not been forgotten.

Our Minister of Pastoral Care and shut-in visitation teams make regular visits to each shut-in. A conscious effort is made to spend ample time with our shut-ins, allowing us to form relationships and address their social and spiritual well-being.

If you attend First Baptist of Hurricane and have a loved one in the area that needs a visit, you can contact the church office and provide them with information on the loved one you wish to receive a visit.
