Next Live Event

As we have continued to monitor the daily Covid-19 infection rates in our immediate and surrounding communities, infections have continued to remain concerningly elevated. With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, there is probable cause to believe that infections may not decline substantially in the next couple of weeks. For that reason, the leadership at FBC believes our next best date to consider as a possible return to in-person worship is Sunday, December 6, 2020. If infection rates subside and continue to go down in the weeks ahead, we will announce an actual return date. In the meantime, we want to thank you again for your prayers, continued support and encouragement. We are hopeful that (Lord willing!) we will soon return to some sense of normalcy … please join us in praying for that to become a reality.  For now, will be live-streaming all of our regular services, so please tune in and stay tuned in.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call the church office.  May God bless and keep you.

"How to Vote in 2020" 10/25/2020

Sermon by Jeff Davenport

Joel 3:14 (Listen)

14   Multitudes, multitudes,
    in the valley of decision!
  For the day of the LORD is near
    in the valley of decision.

(ESV)

Psalm 11 (Listen)

The Lord Is in His Holy Temple

To the choirmaster. Of David.

11:1   In the LORD I take refuge;
  how can you say to my soul,
    “Flee like a bird to your mountain,
  for behold, the wicked bend the bow;
    they have fitted their arrow to the string
    to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
  if the foundations are destroyed,
    what can the righteous do?”1
  The LORD is in his holy temple;
    the LORD’s throne is in heaven;
    his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.
  The LORD tests the righteous,
    but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.
  Let him rain coals on the wicked;
    fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
  For the LORD is righteous;
  he loves righteous deeds;
    the upright shall behold his face.

Footnotes

[1] 11:3 Or for the foundations will be destroyed; what has the righteous done?
